MONACOR SLIM BLACK 4 x SPEAKER SPIKES
Black Burnished Monacor Speaker Spikes (Part No. SPS-45/SW) [12.9150]
You are purchasing 1 pack of 4 spikes ( enough for One Loudspeaker or one separate ) - 4 Spikes in total.
Spikes are 45mm long including 29mm of 1/4" thread which also takes the locking nut. The threads are 1/4" UNC (Unified Coarse)
The spikes screw into the 13mm deep screw-In inserts which require an 8mm hole to be drilled into the base of the speaker if your speakers don't already have them.
The purpose of spikes is to mechanically couple the speakers to the floor. This coupling is essential in achieving the best sonic performance and will dramatically improve clarity, stereo imaging and also tighten up the bass response.
The spikes should fully pierce the carpet, coming into solid contact with the solid floor below.
Adjust the spikes so that each makes secure contact with the floor without the speaker wobbling in any direction when rocked.
Please note: These spikes are not suitable for use with Martin Logan Areus-i speakers which I believe have inserts described as 1/4"-20. (Many thanks to D Pettigrew)
